New Zealand: Partner work visas changes
The government of New Zealand has announced new conditions for partners and spouses of Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) and Essential Skills Work Visa (ESWV) holders as of May 31, 2023. The applicants who apply for a new Partner of a Worker Work Visa may only work for an Accredited Employer and must be paid at least the median wage in New Zealand. It is no longer necessary for an applicant to have a job offer for this visa or to complete a Job Check and there is no minimum number of hours that partners need to work.

The Ministry of Manpower has launched an updated online portal, EP eService, where employers can apply, renew, appeal, issue, cancel or withdraw a pass (except work permits)., It is also possible to view the organization profile and passport holder profile, and update details such as passport and contact details.

United Kingdom: Student visa restrictions
The government of the United Kingdom has published proposals for new student visa restrictions. The aim of the restriction is to reduce net migration to the UK starting January, 2024.
The proposed changes include:
- Removing the ability for international students to bring their family members except for those on post-graduate research programs
- Removing the ability of overseas students to switch from the student visa route to work routes until they complete their studies
- Changes to funds (maintenance) requirement students must meet to apply for a student visa
